You Turned My Wailing into Dancing

Thank You John.jpg

For the last five (or so) years, Amy’s knee swelling and pain has come in cycles. She would be pain-free and mobile for a few days, then one knee would swell for a few days–and before she could walk on that knee again, the other knee would have a flare up. On average, Amy would have two or three days without pain and then six or seven days of suffering. At times, Amy said the pain was comparable to childbirth (and I’ve heard that’s pretty bad).

It’s been like this for years.

We began to label Day One the first day in a cycle Amy wakes up without pain. These are days that Amy tries to get a lot done–like laundry (which is downstairs–and stairs are extremely challenging during a flare-up).

Day Two is the second day without pain. Day Three is the third.

Historically, the flare-up would begin on Day Four or Day Five. Typically, Day Six is pretty rough.

Last week, Amy had her first pain-free Day Six, meaning Amy had six consecutive days without pain. Then the flare-up began on seven.

And today, [Sunday November 17, 2013], is Amy’s first pain-free Day Eight ever. She woke up yesterday and today with no swelling in her knees.

Obviously we don’t know yet if this means God has healed Amy permanently or if tomorrow will be the beginning of another flare-up. Either way, today, Day Eight is cause for celebration and praise!

Thank you for praying pisteuo prayers for Amy. Now join us in thanking God for the blessing of this new day!

You turned my wailing into dancing;
you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,
that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent.
Lord my God, I will praise you forever.
